Product Description It has always been mysterious. It has always been mystifying. And now...it glows in the dark! Just ask it a question and wait to see what answer the Mystifying Oracle will reveal to you. You and a partner sit on opposite sides of the board, with your fingers placed lightly on the message indicator. One of you will ask a question. Now concentrate very hard on the matter at hand - and wait for the indicator to move and begin to reveal the answer through its message window. Will it tell you Yes or No' Will it give you a number or spell out an answer' For centuries, players have brought their questions to the Ouija board. What you do with the information it reveals is between you - and the Mystifying Oracle! Game includes: Ouija board and plastic message indicator. For 2 players.
Editorial Review If you've seen "The Exorcist" lately, the folks at Parker Brothers would like to extend a heartfelt "Captain Howdy-Ya-Do?" courtesy of their newly luminescent classic Ouija Board equipment. It's the same traditional setup as it was decades ago: the alphabet-and-numbers board with "Yes," "No," and "Good Bye" spelled out in turn-of-the-century mysterious script; the heart-shaped "Message Indicator Oracle" with the readout window; the numerous coy references to Ouija being "only a game--isn't it?" So if this edition seems to comprise a bit more plastic than we remember, the promise of the board and indicator glowing in the dark for half-an-hour (after exposure to lamplight for 10 minutes) more than makes up for it. Of course, in the dark you'll never know for sure whether the person across the board is the one pushing the indicator, now will you? --Tony Mason

Just a tool- but one to treat with respect. February 6, 2006 OAKSHAMAN (Algoma, WI United States) 76 out of 97 found this review helpful
I'm surprised that someone didn't think of making a glow-in-the-dark Ouija board long before this one came out. My only complaint is that both the board and the planchette are a bit smaller than standard- if you are comfortable with the standard board then this can definitely be a bit distracting. It will hold a "charge" for approximately 30 minutes. Once again, if you are not used to time limits on your sessions, then this can also prove distracting. My advice is to keep the candles handy.
The talking board is only a tool- neither good nor evil. However, it is a tool far different from divination aids such as the tarot, runes, or the various I Ching methods. With all talking boards you are openly inviting the influence of disembodied entities. Be very careful what you are opening the door to. I wouldn't even consider using it without deep and sincere prayers for protection. Low-level spirits can only influence those who are "vibrating" on the same low level. Examine your motives and your maturity before you experiment here.
To some people tarot cards are just paper, to some this will just be plastic and fiberboard. YOU bring the vital component to the table. It all depends on your sensitivity and connection to the other side.
Thought Ouija Was A Joke & Ouija Made Me Think AGAIN!!!! April 5, 2008 Imagine (Brooklyn, NY) 30 out of 38 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this Ouija board after chatting it up with my boyfriend about how scary a Ouija Board would be to use on Holloween. Obviously I was making sarcastic remarks and was not serious about it becauase I thought Ouija was all nothing but a bunch of hog wash.
Well anyway I ordered the dumb thing because we thought it be a fun joke to get it and see that this thing dont work like people believe it to. I thought it was so funny how people called this simple piece of plastic & cardboard "Witchcraft" and "Black" magic, and would say that those who attend church would never bother with it. Needless to say I ordered the thing and it got to my place with the great help of UPS. I got the thing opened and left it in the sunlight atop my window sil for the remainer of the day (alough directions tell you to leave it under a lamp or in direct sunlight for 30 minutes) anyway I was home alone that night and I decided to test it out and I asked "Is anybody there?" and then the pallette moved over and stopped on "Yes". Man I coulda pissed myself. I told the "spirit" Good bye & chucked it in the closet!
The next night I was convinced to get the thing out the closet and have me and my boyfriend try it out. Well folks, at the end of this session I found out that there are 6 spirits in my home and they been there before we had even moved in. They had told us how they were siblings and that the oldest of them all was a 21yr old male. That their parents were alive but was not the cause of their death. I know that the "deceased" are not your best spellers but this particular one had a easier time with yes and no questions. Spelling was hard to catch, like when he had said that my best friend and his girl would break up December 5th, but instead showed us "D" & "5". I asked if he ment Dec 5th & the pallette flew over to yes!
I barely got sleep last night, and I cant help but to keep thinking how spooky the ordeal was, I thought this was a joke but beware its not! Dont ask the things you may not be able to accept once you learn the truth. ALWAYS go over the questions you tend to ask the Ouija, and make sure the people involved agree. You dont want anyone uncomfortable and kill the mood. And remember sometimes its easier to form your questions in yes and no answer format instead of relying on spelling. Grammer can tend to suck, so I suggest something like what we did, we asked "are you male or female? Answer yes for male or no for female". He answered yes. If you are curious, and not afraid and want to experience what it is to contact the deseaced then I highly reccomend it! Just say a prayer before hand & always say good-bye. Sometimes they will say it back, other times they may not. But that dont matter, Just make sure that YOU always do when you are ready to call it a night. Its just simple manners.

It's a toy, or a tool, and depends on how you use it. March 2, 2006 M. Smith (Flynn, Texas United States) 21 out of 27 found this review helpful
I've used Ouija as a teen, and now as an older adult. When I was a teen, it was harmless because I was harmless. Now that I'm a 57 year old adult, it's still harmless. Approach it with respect and a prayer for protection and nothing will harm you. Sometimes it answers serious questions with serious answers. Be aware that if you don't want to know the answer, don't ask. Evil comes from within the individual, not from any outside source unless you welcome it. I've studied the paranormal most of my life. I've studied Tarot. In each case, it's how you use the tool that determines how it responds to you.
If you approach this Ouija Board as a toy, it will remain a toy. There is nothing to fear but fear because "fear is the mindkiller". If it frightens you, put it away and come back to it later when you're prepared to enjoy it without the weakness that fear brings to you.
Why are there always fanatics? July 30, 2008 Amanda Pike (NY) 30 out of 40 found this review helpful
Of course there are fanatics calling this toy evil because B movies give it a bad name but the fact is this IS a toy. This is a toy. It's a fun toy. It's a rectangular piece of card board with the alphabet drawn on it and then painted with glow in the dark paint. The planchet (the triangle thing) is plastic. It wasn't 'carved by Satan.' It's not Evil. It's a toy. Think about it. What self respecting demon is going to show up using a glow in the dark piece of plastic? If that's your idea of evil clearly you don't know about the cruelty and violence in the world today that you have to rant about a TOY! Get a grip!
Little girls use these at slumber parties and I've yet to see anyone sucked into Hell for asking the piece of cardboard 'Does Timmy like me?' Some of these negative reviews calling this evil and Satanic are out right silly.
Ouija Board -- Whats so bad about it? November 7, 2005 18 out of 24 found this review helpful
I don't really understand what all this hullabulu is about. So-- maybe some people believe you can be possesed by this board, but really, when my friend got one and we used it, we were fine. We talked to spirits and we learned their names and how old they were, how and when they were murdered, where they were born, and who killed them. We asked and found that there were 9 spirits in the room. I summoned my grandfather and spoke to him. Thats not exactly devilish, if you ask me. Also, I am highly offended by people who are Christian who tell everyone on this site to go pray and that you are sinners if you play with this. This is not a site where you post teachings of religions, it is a review board where you review this product. A lot of your brains don't seem to fully process that. Please, save your religios teachings for church and places like that, and stop harrassing people who aren't Christian or people who just want to have a bit of mysterious fun. IT. IS. A. REVIEW. BOARD. If you don't want to buy it, YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!! Some people want to, so leave them be!!!
